Projects

We are honored to support our celebrated teammates.

WE ARE CURRENTLY TAKING NOMINATIONS for our upcoming four C.U.M.F.O.R.T.S. blanket projects! As of June 14, 2011, Projects MATT, ROB, & STEVE are 100% commissioned and Project ZEEKY is 98.5% commissioned - which means that GeeTEAM has raised $3,985.00 for Team in Training - The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of our buddies Matt M., Rob R., Steve M., & Zeeky S.: a fabulous effort by all involved! We have already started our second project, and we are looking for community nominations of Honorees for upcoming projects. If you would like to nominate a family member, friend, coworker, acquaintance - please contact Jessica.

We have added more comfort items to our project list! Because there are so many people in need of comfort items to accompany them as they battle blood cancer, C.U.M.F.O.R.T.S. blanket has added options of "smaller" projects - smaller in stature, but still large in impact! Each of our projects is hand-made and commissioned for a specific Honoree.
  1. Blanket Project. Already introduced, C.U.M.F.O.R.T.S. blanket is currently producing two separate Blanket Projects: PROJECT MATT & PROJECT ROB.
    • Each blanket is composed of 100 commissioned Donor Medallions - that is 100 hugs from our Donors to our Honoree.
    • Each blanket represents $1,000 raised for LLS.
  2. Chemo Cap Project.
    • Chemo Caps come in sizes for Children, Teens and Adults. There are
    • Each Chemo Cap represents $200 raised for LLS.
    • Chemo Caps are produced by GeeTEAM Volunteers, who attend a C.U.M.F.O.R.T.S. blanket Project Event to learn how to crochet Chemo Caps & Cap adornments.
  3. Tough Love Project. Stuffed Ninja Doll.
    • Our Tough Love Stuffed Ninja Doll is our most popular "Chemo Cuddly."
    • Each Tough Love Ninja represents $500 raised for LLS.
  4. Chemo Cuddly Project. Stuffed Doll-of-Choice.
    • Chemo Cuddlies Stuffed Dolls are commissioned for our Honorees that are currently going through chemotherapy treatments.
    • We have a variety of Chemo Cuddly patterns, including (but not limited to): Elefant, Moo-Cow, Munkey, Lyon, Hoot (owl), Kat, Bunie, Big Blue, Tortoise, Tako (octopus), and many more!
    • Each Chemo Cuddly represents $500 raised for LLS.
  5. Handful of Love Project. Small Stuffed Heart.
    • Our Small Stuffed Heart is a hand-held hug, a plushy "stress ball" that our Honorees can keep close by for those moments when they need a little support and a helping hand.
    • Each Handful of Love Project represents $200 raised for LLS.
  6. Lots of Love Project. Large Stuffed Heart.
    • Our Large Stuffed Heart is a heart-shaped pillow that our Honoree patients can bring with them to their hospital-stays for comfort and encouragement, or keep close by for a good, long hug from our Donors.
