C.U.M.F.O.R.T.S. blanket is a fund-raising effort created to provide financial, emotional, and physical support for Honored blood cancer patients and survivors.

In January 2011, C.U.M.F.O.R.T.S. blanket creator, Jessica Gee, joined Team in Training (TNT) of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Her effort to simultaneously raise funds and awareness for LLS and train for the Mayor's Midnight Sun Run Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska kicked off GeeTEAM - family and friends that have joined in the fight to cure blood cancers by pledging monetary donations to LLS.

Donors to the C.U.M.F.O.R.T.S. blanket cause have the opportunity to make a multifaceted contribution. Each gift is translated into many forms of care:
  • 100% of monetary donations are given directly to LLS to support its mission. LLS distributes 75 cents of every dollar gifted to the local community of blood cancer research and care;
  • Each monetary gift of $10 USD commissions ("purchases") a Donation Medallion – a crocheted (6” x 6”) fabric square – hand-crafted by Jessica for an Honored individual. The Donation Medallions will be assembled to create a C.U.M.F.O.R.T.S. blanket and will be given to the Honored individual. A Project Book will be created , with space for Donors to give their well-wishes and support, and will be given to the Honored individuals with their blanket.
  • Each donation will serve to support Jessica in her efforts to complete the Mayor’s Midnight Sun Run Marathon (26.2 miles) in Anchorage, Alaska on June 18, 2011.
